A new picture of Bob & RAF pals from Malta in 1942This picture is not in Bob's book and I don't think he had a copy of it. The photograph was taken on Malta in March 1942, while Bob's first ferry crew was stranded there en route to Egypt. It was supplied to me by Colin Burmingham, who got it from the son of Flight Sergeant R. A. Forsyth. Apparently Forsyth, who probably took the picture as he is not in it, was the captain of the 99 squadron Wellington and Bob (who can be seen second left) was the second pilot. Mr Burmingham says that the other men in the six-man crew of the plane were Sgt. Denis Bolesworth, Sgt. Bill Allison, Sgt. Norman Armstrong, and SGt. George Milburn. The line-up here, from left is: Allison, Harding, Milburn, and Bolesworth. Bob's diary of this trip survives and may be posted later.
